Story
Thank you for visiting our fundraising page. We are supporting our brave beautiful mother, sister and friend Caroline Griffiths (Tranter). A true inspiration to us all. Anything you can spare to support us will be greatly appreciated. Our Caz’s story: In March 2022 Caroline went into A&E with a pain in her shoulder and side. Eighteen hours later she was given the shocking news that they had discovered a large mass in her liver which was very likely to be cancerous. After months of investigations, tests and hospital admissions she was given the devastating news that she had a rare neuroendocrine cancer in her bowel and liver. The cancer our Caz has is inoperable and incurable so, she is now receiving palliative chemotherapy. The first round was brutal and she lost her hair and struggled with many side effects but this kept her stable for a few months. Her scan in January 2023 revealed that the liver tumour had grown slightly so she was commenced on second line chemotherapy. She is currently tolerating this chemotherapy well and we are now anxiously awaiting updated scan results to see how she has responded to this round of treatment and see what the next steps are. We are incredibly proud of how she has handled herself over the last year or so and are in awe of her positivity and bravery! This is our opportunity to help and give back in the small way we can. Thank you to everyone that reads this and supports this wonderful cause.
