Story
I am 1 of 40 trekkers that will be trekking over 100km to raise money for Save the Children. Together we plan to raise £180,000 to support mothers and their new-born babies in Vietnam and in many other countries.
With GSK colleagues from 24 countries, we will be coming together for this common goal. My personal commitment is to raise £4,500 and GSK will match all donations.
I am motivated to make a difference. Considering basic healthcare is essential to everyone, Save the Children is an organisation that I want to contribute to at a higher level by raising money. Making a difference to people’s lives in need in less developed communities is something I am passionate about.
It is a privilege to be selected for Trek for Kids 2021.
Due to the pandemic Trek for Kids challenge was changed from going ahead in Vietnam to within Australia. I completed the Overland Track and with the huge support of my friends, family and work I was able to raise $35,000. Big thank you!
The funds raised are going to a local community within Australia helping children and mothers in a remote community.
In now having completed the Trek I’m hoping to get up to Northern QLD by the end of the year with STC organisation to visit the community.
What a journey it has been. I will be sharing a clip of my experience. With your help I have been able to DOUBLE my fundraising target! Thank you all for the support.
Where will the funds be going? The funds raised I have raised will go to the Doomadgee community in Northern Queensland, supporting a family center. This is where programs are run and is a safe place for families to utilise.
Any donation would be appreciated to help me reach my goal and make a huge difference!
