Story
I'm so proud to be running on behalf of British Heart Foundation in the Great North Run 2023.
Two years ago, in the space of a month, my dad somehow managed to survive 6 heart attacks, kidney failure, heart rupture and a stroke which left him partially blind. We pulled through thanks to the support and tireless work of BHF to fund research and help those living with heart disease.
In light of my dad beating the odds and living his full and best life, I'm trying to do the same. I suffer from a long-term illness/disability called Crohn's disease which puts me at a significant disadvantage than the average runner but I won't be letting this stop me! Training has already begun and in the very unfortunate event that I can't run on the day, I will walk or have my mum and Greg piggy back me*.
Any amount you can afford to donate makes immeasurable difference and your support means so much to all of us.
See you at the finish line - G, Babs & Greg x
