Tour De Pennine Bridleway · 27 September 2014

Founded in 1969, as a playgroup for children with disabilities, and unique across Stoke-on-Trent, Staffordshire and Cheshire, no other charity does what we do in our region. We are Early Years specialists, giving children aged 0-5 with special needs the best start in life.

Story

This year Grindeys Community decided to take on a different challenge instead of the usual walking/hiking challenges.

With the massive increase of interest in cycling and the Tour De France having 3 stages in the UK this year we wanted to do a cycling event.

We settled on the Pennine Bridleway as it was something none of us have ever done before and a great challenge in terms of hills with over 3kms of climbing over the 2 days.

The route will take us from Grindey's HQ to the start of the Pennine Bridleway at  Middleton near Cromford. This section is roughtly 30miles of road and canal.  Once on the Pennine Bridleway its 30 miles again straight to the other side of Buxton where we will stay the night and make return journey the next day.

The brave team is Phil Windsor, Daniel Rushton, Nathalie Byatt, Matt Bedson, Jonathon Thompson and Phil Dawson and we would all really appreciate your support during this challenge.
