Story
Thanks for visiting my fundraising page.
On the Sunday 30th of May 2010 I took part in the Nairnshire Challenge (again).
The Nairnshire Challenge is a 31-mile duathlon on foot and bike - a half marathon cross country on rough tracks in hilly terrain, then a bike race back to Nairn. It is organised annually by the Rotary Club of Nairn to raise money via sponsorship for charities.
All the money raised goes into the Club's Charitable Fund which is a recognised Scottish Charity – reference SCO 27004
The 12th Challenge event in 2009 raised about £50,000 and since the first Challenge in 1997 over £360,000 has been raised and distributed to primarily local charities.

This year, due to extremely heavy rain the night before the race, the hill run was cancelled (the streams were raging torrents), and instead we ran approx 10 miles up hill from Cawdor to Drynachan on the road instead. I managed 2 hours 37 minutes and 41 seconds including the bike section. I think the training paid off - I should have been on target for my 3 hours 15 minutes if we had gone the whole distance.
Last year I raised £700 in total, this year I'm hoping I can equal that amount. To make administration of donations easier (for me), I'm only taking donations via Just Giving, unless you can physically hand me a wedge of cash !
Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Rotary Club of Nairn Charitable Trust Fund gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.
So please sponsor me now !
