Virgin London Marathon 2014 · 13 April 2014 ·
Hello
Over the past 3 & a half years I have been raising money in support of a close family friend of mine, Peter Cross, who had been diagnosed with leukaemia and fought for 2 years to try and beat off this horrible illness.
During this period. Peter, despite a brave fight, lost his battle against leukaemia on 3rd June 2012.
Pete was originally diagnosed with leukaemia in June 2010, a week after he finished A-Levels and was preparing for the next stage of his life at Southampton University.
Pete was admitted to University College London Hospital cancer ward and overall a range of intensive and invasive treatments all of which he dealt with showing unbelievable bravery & courage aided with the fantastic support of his parents Jane & Paul.
CLIC Sargent was a charity that offered support to Pete and his parents over the two year period. It is because of their fantastic work that I am again running the London Marathon on April 13th 2014 in memory of Peter for CLIC Sargent so that they are able to continue offering the fantastic support to other families who are affected by cancer.
Having been a 'veteran' of 4 previous marathons I know having your support will help that extra bit to complete the marathon.
Thanks for your support
Greg
