Story
I have been running a few years now, done some marathons, trail racing, cross country races etc then I heard of an event called the Brathay 10 in 10. I was hoping to run the event in 2020 but we had a little virus issue which put paid to that so hopefully 2021 will be trouble free for everyone.
This year again a small group of runners will pledge to raise money for the Brathay Trust and to tackle the challenge of 10 marathons in 10 days; 262 miles around Lake Windermere taking place in May every year. The appeal of the physical challenge engaged me straight away and I applied. It's a long way, but if it was easy it wouldn't be worth doing. And there's the bonus of the last day being the Asics Windermere Marathon so I get to share the emotions of finishing with hundreds of other people.
All donations however big or small will be very much appreciated. It will make all the 262 miles of sweat and pain worthwhile to support the Brathay in making a big impact on the lives of the many young people with your help.
Just to assure you every penny you donate goes direct to the charity, I am paying for the entry fee and costs myself.
Our charitable work is underpinned by enterprising fundraising and our supporters commitment. We know that, enthused by the belief in the transformational power of people working together, you can help us make a positive difference. Work with us to transform the lives of young people. There are so many ways to help and discover the Brathay effect that is at the heart of everything we do.
