The Great North Run is the biggest half marathon in the world with over 57,000 runners taking part. The course takes in the iconic Tyne Bridge and finishes in the coastal town of South Shields.

Story

Alzheimer’s Society is transforming the landscape of dementia forever.Until the day we find a cure, we will create a society where those affected by dementia are supported and accepted, able to live in their community without fear or prejudice.

Two years ago I lost my nanna to this awful disease. I have had friends who’s grandparents have went through the same disease but never understood the impact until seeing it first hand. It’s one of the most heartbreaking things to watch a loved one disappear before your eyes and not remember who you are.

For anyone who knows me knows two years ago the only thing I would have ran for was a takeaway!! So this is going to be a huge challenge for me.

A huge thank you in advance for anyone who can sponsor me no matter how big or small it can all go to finding a cure for this awful disease.
