Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

It is coming up to two years (01/12) now since I was diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Luekaemia, I have now been in remission for a year and a half after being treated in Raigmore Hospital Inverness for 6 months.

As a lot of people know I enjoy most sports and enjoy the odd occasional run. I have ran previously the New York Marathon and even though it was a great experience I wouldnt want to do again, the pain was dreadful, just the thought of running 26.2 miles again depressed me. So since I have been getting fitter, doing a marathon was always going to be on the agenda to try raise money for Leukaemia & Lymphoma Research.

I've some how made the mistake though and must of been drunk to have been persuaded to run an Ultra Marathon, which is a long grueling 55 mile run, more than double a normal marathon, maddness I know!! This will be run from Glasgow to Edinburgh in April, which doesn't leave much time to train. I will be doing this with my Brother Lee, who actually suggested this, so it means a friendly bit of Brotherly Competition  and my brothers mate Neil brewer (goose) who I recently ran a men's health 10k with, I won the 10k between is but I feel this challenge is going to be more about just finishing.

I am asking if anyone would kindly donate any money as every little helps, the money will be going to a great cause, to help progress research in Blood cancers.

Thanks

Greg
