Green Ink Sponsored Write brings together published authors and writing students to raise money for Macmillan Cancer Support. Sponsors will receive their world-exclusive anthology by email on Monday 11 October, 48 hours after it's written (If you haven't received yours by Tuesday morning and you've checked your junk mail, email steve@blackshuckbooks.co.uk)!
Macmillan is all about quality of life – making the most of who we are and the time we have. Reflecting that mission, writers are sponsored for their time, not their word-count. Last year we raised £3713. This year's theme will be announced a month before the event (so 9 September) and we'd love it if you could help us smash that total for this amazing charity. If you're donating in support of a particular sponsored writer, or in memory of a friend or family member, please do share your story with your donation.
Our Sponsored Writers are: Nicholas Baines, Charlotte Bond, Rosie Garland, Penny Jones, Roz Kaveney, Rachel Knightley, Peter Laws, Stephen Laws, Laura Mauro, John McCulloch, Lisa Morton, Jackie Naffah, Katharine Orton, JJ Shippen, Jennifer Steil, Paul Tremblay and Kelly White. Anthology design by Steve J. Shaw of Black Shuck Books. Writing will begin at 10.30am on 9 October and end at 5pm (with a break for lunch!). From 5pm, the writers have 24 hours to edit their work, then it’s emailed to Green Ink Writers' Gym HQ to be amalgamated into an anthology for our sponsors.
