Thanks for your support and help
A huge thanks you for all whom have supported Cancer Research UK and on a personal note a huge thanks to the hundreds of people who helped with the organisation of Great World Run, for believing in the cause that we will cure cancer together. It was an amazing journey - both physcially and emotionally. I saw so many amazing places and met a huge number of supportive people. I'm sure most of you saw I had an accident in Athens - this is healing up now. With the accident and some of the other things e.g. remember the day I ended up in the Artic circle instead of Nome, meant I did not complete the traditional 13.1 miles in one go in each location. A couple of the days we made up some distance elsewhere but I still think the Athens incident in particular means I was a few miles shorts but I still managed to get to the 24 locations, 24 days.
24 locations – 24 consecutive days
Europe to South American to North American to Pacific to Asia to Middle East to Europe. I was diagnosed with cancer in 2003. I ran a marathon during treatment. To celebrate being all clear for one year, 1 ran 4 half marathons in 24 hours in 4 countries. Recovery from cancer often felt like a never-ending marathon. Cancer is no longer part of me, but running is. Running is my way of celebrating life.
Many thanks for your support , together we will beat Cancer
