Fundraising for Anthony Nolan
Over a year ago, I was rushed to A&E after several days of excruciating pain and cold sweats. The doctors confirmed that I had Acute Lymphoblastic Leukaemia, and a particularly aggressive type.
Since then, I've been through cycles of chemotherapy and immunotherapy, and a stem cell transplant from an incredibly generous human being coordinated by Anthony Nolan. They gave me a second chance at life, and now it's my turn to give back.
I'm participating in the Great North Run 2024 half marathon to raise awareness for the extraordinary work Anthony Nolan does for patients like me. Every day, they help saving the lives of people with blood cancer or blood disorders by matching them with individuals willing to donate their stem cells. They also fund specialist post-transplant nurses and support patients and their families throughout the transplant journey.
I'm asking for your help in raising money that will support their work. Every penny you donate contributes towards saving the lives of patients in need of a stem cell transplant. Many of my fellow patients are still waiting for that second chance. Receiving a stem cell transplant is the hope that keeps them fighting and going, sometimes during very difficult moments. This is why it's so important for me to do my part to help them.
That is also why I want to take this opportunity to encourage you to join the stem cell register. It is a very simple and painless process, and you could be saving somebody else's life! – Please Join Here. For those outside the UK, you can find other organisations through the WMDA.
Let's come together to make a difference in the lives of those affected by blood cancer or blood disorders. Please, join me in supporting Anthony Nolan.
