We provide help and hope to everyone living with dementia.

Story

Hi, I'm Mark and I'm running the 2021 Great North Run as part of the Wee Ann's Weans team, a group of 10 of us made up of my brother and sisters, my nieces and my own children, see the link at the bottom of this page to see the Team page and full narrative. Our Mum, Ann, was sadly diagnosed with Alzheimer's and Vascular Dementia in 2017, and has been cared for at home since by our wonderful dad Patsy.

Approaching 50 soon and taking this on after a few years absence is quite daunting, although I'll be driven on by the support pledged through this page, anything you can give is very much appreciated and helps Alzheimer's Society continue the fantastic work they do.

Many thanks

Mark

Alzheimer’s Society is transforming the landscape of dementia forever.Until the day we find a cure, we will create a society where those affected by dementia are supported and accepted, able to live in their community without fear or prejudice.

At Alzheimer’s Society we’re working towards a world where dementia no longer devastates lives. We do this by giving help to those living with dementia today, and providing hope for the future by campaigning to make dementia the priority it should be and funding groundbreaking research.
