We provide help and hope to everyone living with dementia.

Story

After one too many drinks post Thomas’ London Marathon efforts last October we decided we would mark the year of our “90th” (Thomas’ 30th and Philip’s 60th) birthdays by taking part in the Great North Run on 11th September 2022.

With Philip hanging up his trainers some years ago, and Thomas only finding his in the past decade, this will be the first time we will run together.

Rather than just taking part for “fun”, we will be raising money for Alzheimer’s Society, a charity we have both fundraised for on a number of occasions. Our family has been dealing with the difficult impact of Alzheimer’s and dementia for the past 15 years, as we’ve seen and cared for much loved family members struggling with their final years of life. We will be running for them and the hundreds of thousands of families in a similar position.

Alzheimer’s Society is transforming the landscape of dementia forever. Until the day they find a cure, they will create a society where those affected by dementia are supported and accepted, able to live in their community without fear or prejudice.

Thank you in advance for your generous donations.

With thanks,

Philip & Thomas

At Alzheimer’s Society we’re working towards a world where dementia no longer devastates lives. We do this by giving help to those living with dementia today, and providing hope for the future by campaigning to make dementia the priority it should be and funding groundbreaking research.
