Story
I lost my mum almost a year ago in October 2020. She'd been diagnosed with Alzheimer's a while before and watching her suffer and being trapped in a place she couldn't escape from was utterly heartbreaking.
When Covid restrictions were introduced in March 2020 we were unable to visit her. We were further robbed of precious time with her and she us. We couldn't comfort her, reassure her, be with her and talk to her. All of the things she needed.
Loosing her suddenly to Covid last October was heartbreaking...but in some ways a relief. We knew that she'd been spared many more years of dealing with this cruel and torturous disease.
In January I decided to put my anger and frustrations towards something positive so I decided to run the Manchester Marathon and fundraise for Alzheimer's Society and the amazing work they do at the same time. As a non runner I have to tell you that this is the most challenging thing I've ever done!
If you'd like to support me and my fundraising efforts please donate! Every penny is greatly appreciated and goes towards funding research and supporting all of our own loved ones who continue to suffer without a cure.
Thank you xxx
