Story
To celebrate 125 years of the National Trust, I'm aiming to raise £125 by climbing some of the highest Peaks around.
Last year I raised £715 for the NHS by climbing more than 20 Peaks in Cheshire and the surrounding area (20 Peaks for 2020)
Whilst I was out I was able to absorb the great countryside that we have and see the urgent need for conservation and preservation. Several of the places I visited were maintained by the National Trust. I quickly developed a huge desire to aid them in their efforts.
My first fundraiser received overwhelming support from friends, family, work colleagues, local business and press. The whole experience lifted my spirits after the most difficult time of my life.
Now with renewed energy and spirit and in possibly the best shape of my life I am driven and motivated to helping others in any way I can.
The natural progression from my previous fundraiser was to achieve 21 Peaks for 2021. But it couldn't be just that simple this time right? Last time I faced snow, ice, fog, wind and rain as a novice. Now with some experience under my belt and having reached more than 50 Peaks I aim to raise the bar.
The challenge this time is 21 new Peaks so no previous ones count towards the tally. They also have to be of at least 500M in height. Lastly, I need to bring my County tops total up to 5. I have already reached the highest Peaks of Cheshire and Staffordshire, so I need to seek out a further 3 .
Additionally I have given myself a number of 'secret' goals which will be revealed if/when I achieve them. Upon doing so I will make a cash donation to the fundraiser for each one.
I have managed to get my fitness back in to top shape and after reflecting on my difficult year where laughter just seemed inappropriate with such terrible things being faced by everyone, I have decided the time is right to bring back my sense of humour and personality. It has remained on standby for far too long and I aim to incorporate it in to my next set of adventures... you have been warned hahaha
Finally I'd like to once again say thank you to everyone who supported me in the last epic journey and hope that you'll all support me during this one.
