Story
The Great Comberton Social Club is holding its annual village Christmas Party on 10th December 2021. We are pleased that our charity appeal will again be rasing funds for Caring Hands in the Vale this year.
Caring Hands in the Vale was founded in 2003 as part of Vale of Evesham Christian Centre and seeks the relief of poverty and need in the Vale of Evesham.
Those referred to Caring Hands can receive food parcels, toiletry packs, bedding, clothing and blankets free of charge depending on their circumstances. Caring Hands has resources available for individuals who are street homeless or sofa surfing, such as sleeping bags and backpacks. People can also receive a free hot meal twice a week at the Caring Hands Diner.
Caring Hands support all in genuine need on a referral basis. Referrals include people on low incomes, those in severe debt and with benefit issues, single parent families, ex-offenders, families of offenders, street homeless/homeless, people with substance misuse issues and mental health problems, and also in crisis situations such as illness, injury, relationship breakdown and bereavement.
Caring Hands networks with nearly 100 community organisations including Rooftop Housing, John Martin’s Charitable Trust, St Richard’s Hospice, Citizen’s Advice, CCP homeless outreach, Swanswell, the NHS, Social Workers, Probation Services and many local churches.
