On 23rd February 2017 we will be saying a final farewell to Granville at Wath All Saints Church, followed by a drink in his memory at Wath Rugby Club.
Granville had many things that were held dear to him. His Family always the centre of his life, his wife and sons always first in his thoughts.
But he was more than a husband, father, brother, grandfather, uncle or friend. Just enough was never in his vocabulary. If he had time to fill he gave it freely to family, colleagues, friends, the players he coached and people that just simply took time to get to know him. If you asked for help he always offered more than you would expect.
As a family we listened intently to his tales of life in the RAF, sharing them with us seemed to brighten his day and always left us laughing and smiling. His time in the RAF was an important period in his life, and that of his family. In fact when he first retired he spent time working with SSAFA advising and assisting ex-serviceman.
It is for this reason, and the fact that Granville wasn't a flowery man despite the salmon shirts, that we are asking, as per instruction from Granville, for donations to the RAF Benevolent Fund in lieu of flowers at the funeral. Please help us to help Granville continue supporting our vets.
