Thanks for visiting my fundraising page.
OK, I admit it - I'm not actually paddling my heart out at the first Chippenham Dragon Boat Race on Saturday 29 August 2009. However, I did conceive the event (in January 2009) and, ably assisted by a sub-committee comprising fellow Rotarians Lyn Crabtree, John McKee, and Mike Hole, have attended seemingly endless meetings, negotiated with North Wilts/Wiltshire Council, the Environment Agency, British Waterways, the Chippenham and Villages Area Partnership (ChaP), Dragon Boat Events Ltd (to name just a few), designed promotional material and a website (www.rotary-chippenham-wv.org.uk/dbr), registered RCCWV for Gift Aid and with Justgiving, and orchestrated a marketing campaign. On 29 August, I and the team willl be setting up at 06.30am to register teams from 08.00am and no doubt will be working tirelessly throughout the day. And, just to rub salt into my wounds, I now learn I'm missing out on a family wedding that day too !
So, please sponsor me now ! - your money will benefit Chippenham Springboard (www.springboardchippenham.co.uk), a local charity dedicated to helping pre-school children with special needs, and Shelterbox (www.shelterbox.org), an international charity providing disaster relief.
Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Rotary Club of Wiltshire Vale Trust Fund gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.
