Story
Hello family and friends, most of you maybe aware that in the past 7 years I have lost both my mum and dad to this evil disease CANCER. My father passed away in late October 2001 with lung cancer. Unfortunately he was unaware that he had contracted the disease until he was admitted to hospital for routine pheunmoania and plurisy tests, within in a short space of time, after being admitted he passed away. He never even started to enjoy retirement as he was 65 when he went onto pastures new.
Mum was diagnosed with Bowel Cancer in January 2007, she underwent surgery to have it removed she came through the operation and started to recover. She was scheduled to start chemotherapy but it was delayed as she was still not strong enough after the operation to start her course. She went for her 6 month check and it was found that the cancer had spread to her lymph glands and she was put on chemotherapy then, she started to pick up but unfortunately as the dosage got stronger her body could not take the treatment, eventually she was readmitted to hospital and this was the final curtain as the chemo was stopped and eventually her body started to shut itself down until she eventually passed away November 2007.
These are the reasons that I have decided to run the marathon and to raise funds so hopefully the monies that are raised go a long way to finding a cure for this disease, so if you want to sponsor me please give generously as this disease will affect us all in one way or another.
