Story
My guide dog Gypsy makes my life possible. With her at my side, I have the freedom and independence to do the things I want to do - including my biggest passion, diving.
I would like to raise funds for Guide Dogs to help train more of these life-changing animals. Therefore, I am visiting the Red Sea in March, and will attempt to break the world record for the deepest salt water dive achieved by a blind person. The record (set by me!) currently stands at 105m but I want to go deeper! I will be accompanied by friends Steve Arnold and Albi Roberts, and will complete the challenge between the 6th and 11th March.
When I lost my sight and couldn't do some of the adrenaline pumping hobbies I once could, I decided to start deep water diving. I became hooked, joined the White Rose Dolphins diving club and now dive most weekends. I am hoping to raise loads of money for Guide Dogs - both to inspire me to break the record, and train more life-changing dogs like Gypsy. Thank you for sponsoring me.
