Story
This September I am challenging myself to walk 87 miles along Hadrian’s Wall. I’m doing this to help fund a research programme which, I am hopeful, will one day help my Grandson, Jackson, to see.
Unfortunately, he has a genetic eye condition caused by the CRB1 gene, which significantly limits his vision. This condition is very rare which means this kind of research needs to be privately funded.
We have teamed up with five other families in the UK whose children have the same condition and we are working together, raising money for vital research into CRB1 gene-related eye conditions which affect our family members. I would love for Jackson, and other children like him, to be able to see the world one day. This is our best chance…
Please donate and help us reach our target so we can start this research and give our children a brighter future.
Challenge
As well as donating, I would like to set you a challenge…
We all take our senses for granted . How would it affect you to lose your sight?
I challenge you to put on a blindfold for just 30 mins and attempt to do everyday things. Such as go for a walk, go to a supermarket, walk around your garden or eat a meal (make sure you have a sighted person present ). So you can for a short time appreciate what children like Jackson cope with everyday.
