Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I have entered my first Triathlon to ensure that I have a goal to hit and that I work on my fitness and weight loss before the summer as my winter blubber appears to have set in with a vengence!
I am also using this opportunity to raise money for Young Minds, a very worthwhile charity supporting youngsters with mental health issues and their families and in memory of our great family friend George Chiverton.
George was a very big part of our family's life since he became best friends with my son Sam at playschool. He remained a very much larger than life addition to each of our lives from that point until we tragically lost him on 4th January 2015 aged just 21.
We all learned too late that George was suffering from mental health issues, at a much deeper level than anyone suspected. Young Minds is a charity designed to support both young sufferers of mental health issues and their families. I hope that any money that I raise will assist Young Minds to help other youngsters and their families and prevent the far too large loss of young potential that occurs every year from youth suicide.
I know that George will be looking down on me and laughing his socks off that I'll be floating, rolling and shuffling my way through the Triathlon in his memory and shall be able to hear his cries of "run fat boy run" if I make it to the finishing line.
