Story
The arrival of coronavirus is placing continued pressure on our local NHS services. We have never been prouder to support the dedicated staff of the Royal Berkshire NHS Foundation Trust and have launched an urgent appeal to help our hard-working NHS staff during these challenging times. The Trust is run by over 5,500 dedicated staff from doctors and nurses, porters and housekeepers, to our back office teams making sure supplies are getting to where they are needed. They are working even harder than usual to ensure they can continue to provide the best possible care for patients and their families. My challenge is to to try and juggle(kick-ups) a football 1000 times without it touching the floor..I will have 5 attempts at this...Im now 53 years old, overweight, not fit at all and until yesterday i hadnt kicked a ball in 2 decades. But ive given myself 3 weeks to practice and will attempt the challenge on MAY 9th when hopefully the lockdown will be lifted.1000 is a lot i hear you say, buts its ok folks as i have form as i actually did 2000 kick-ups in 1994 to raise money for the RBH Childrens ward.Im going to keep a daily update on my practising.By the end of day 1 yesterday (April 17th) i actually managed 246 in one go..But i was shattered afterwards and my legs felt like lead,so theres a long way to go, with many many hours spent in the garden practising if im going to make this happen..Ive also just weighed myself and im one and a half stone over weight..So i have two reasons to be doing this, lol.So put your hands in your pockets people..Our Heros deserve it. Thanks everyone and Stay Safe. Graham Neale
