Story
I was diagnosed with a brain tumour in February 2020. I've had brain surgery, Radiotherapy, Chemotherapy and amazing support from many great folks including The Brain Tumour Charity. And of course my family, friends and colleagues. I've now got Brain Tumour Epilepsy and am still living with my cancer/tumour, which is incurable. But that's not stopping me! So still fighting and getting ongoing support from the NHS, The Beatson and The Brain Tumour Charity, which will all be life long.
I want to raise some money towards supporting the Brain Tumour Charity in its work in what is Brain Tumour Awareness month. Did you know, for example, that brain tumours kill more children and adults under the age of 40 than ANY OTHER CANCER. And that just 1% of the national spend on cancer research is allocated to this devastating disease? And that less than 12% of those diagnosed with a brain tumour survive beyond five years?
The Brain Tumour Charity is the world's leading brain tumour charity and the largest dedicated funder of research into brain tumours globally. It is working on finding new treatments, offering the highest level of support and driving urgent change. Right now. Because when you, or someone you love, is diagnosed with a brain tumour a cure really can't wait.
