As part of a Grade-1-athon at Anglia Ruskin University Library I have set myself the challenge of passing both the Preliminary Grade and Grade 1 exams for bass guitar. I have owned my guitar for several years, but with little aptitude for musical instruments I have struggled to learn even the simplest of scales. The prospect of raising money for charity as part of the event is spurring me on to finally get my head (and fingers) around the bass.
