Story
On the 15th September I am running The Great North Run for the very first time in support of the British Heart Foundation.
According to what I have written on the ‘My Inspiration Is…’ heart shaped card I shall be wearing on the day, my inspiration in running this race is Congenital Heart Defects – both my own and those of others.
The BHF does some great work in researching heart disease and providing support for those who have experienced heart disease. Here are a couple of examples of the way your donations could help:
£50 Help find a cure – this could fund for two hours one of around 500 post-doctoral scientists who work in research teams across the UK on projects to better understand how to diagnose, prevent, treat and cure heart disease.
£100 Fund a Heart Helpline Nurse for a day
£1200 Help save lives with early CPR and defibrillation – this could cover the cost of a portable defibrillator plus CPR training equipment.
My goal is to raise some money in order to support the work the BHF does and raise more awareness of congenital heart defects – the other CHD.
Many thanks!
NB: Text donations can also be made. You can donate as little as £1, or £2, £3, £4, £5 or £10. Simply text my code ‘GBHF99’ with the amount to 70070.
