Story

Thank you to all of you who took the time to sponsor me for the Loch Ness Marathon.  We raised 830 pounds on line plus a further 115 pounds off line which is a super amount.  I managed a time of 3hr 16min and 103rd place on what was a beautiful day on Loch Ness.  A bit hilly though!  Thank you so much for all your support.

Backgound:

In 2007 a very close friend of ours died of Motor Neuron Disease (MND).   Nicky was only 39 years old and left behind her husband Nick and 11 year old son Alexander.  Nicky was incredibly brave and a real stoic but MND is a cruel, cruel neurodegenerative condition which tends to lead to near complete physical paralysis but leaves the mind clear and lucid.  There is no known cause or cure.  Ruth's Grandfather also died from MND in 1991.  The Scottish Motor Neuron Disease Association supports research but also, crucially, care for those with this, sadly often, terminal condition.
