Story
I get a lot of pleasure from swimming especially in open water where I often feel a sense of freedom and enjoy being closer to nature. Swimming the channel however has always seemed to me as an enormous undertaking and likely to be beyond my ability.
Taking on a channel swim as part of a relay team has increased my confidence and optimism but it still feels a little daunting.
I’m looking forward to sharing the channel swim experience with others and enjoying a sense of camaraderie, in terms of the preparation, fundraising and the actual swim.
This challenge allows me to reflect and gives me a sense of perspective, people face far greater challenges every day for many reasons.
Seeing the courage with which people face greater challenges is inspiring, this is the reason why I’m helping Aspire who support people with spinal cord injury.
