Graeme's 25 for 31: A Month of Cycling for Mental Health

25 for 31: A Month of Cycling for Mental Health · 23 June 2020
Last year I took part in the "Mind United: Trek the Peak District" challenge, which was an overnight walk to raise money for Mind - The Mental Health Charity. I entered the event to try and support the charity - in a small way - with the work that they do in supporting people with mental health needs.
Over the years I have seen people suffer from mental health issues. Some have managed to overcome or manage these, whilst others still face on-going battles on a daily basis. Mind do excellent work in tailoring support to each individual, and I hope that any monies raised in my latest challenge will help the charity continue this work.
Society's perception of mental health has altered markedly in recent years, and that is a good thing - this change needs to continue. We need to be more aware of why people suffer from mental health issues, and what can be done to support them. The work of Mind in this area cannot be underestimated.
The points above are my reasons for doing this challenge - your support in helping me achieve the goal of 25 miles for 31 consecutive days, a total of 775 miles, would be much appreciated.
Thanks :)
