My father was recently diagnosed with an aggressive form of prostate cancer and as a result he is awaiting an operation which has now been delayed on a number of occasions due to COVID. We are hopeful he will receive treatment later this month but also mindful of the pressure the NHS is under right now and the great work they are all doing on the front line fighting this pandemic.
Prostate Cancer is the most commonly diagnosed cancers in the UK. More thank 47,500 men are diagnosed with prostate cancer every year – that’s 129 men every day, every 45 minutes one man dies from prostate cancer- that’s more than 11,500 men every year.
I know cancer is something that has touched as all at some point in our life’s and it is vital we continue to support these charities in finding new treatments and to raise awareness of all types of cancers.
Starting tomorrow I will run 13.1miles for 30 consecutive days this is going to involve lots of 6am starts in the cold wet and wintry weather. I hope this will help raise awareness of Prostate Cancer and the charity.
Hopefully I can remain injury free, I am determined to complete this challenge.
I appreciate there are lots of requests for donations at this time but if anyone could sponsor me even a few pounds it would be much appreciated.
