Story
Thank you for visiting my fundraising page!
The grade-1-a-thon is a group of musicians learning an instrument new to them from a different family of instruments to our usual instrument. The challenge started on 4th January 2009 - we were banned from picking up our chosen instrument before that! 8 weeks later on 1st March we sat the grade 1 exam then performed in an orchestra to an audience of keen supporters!
I passed with Merit ! and the concert was fabulous fun!
This is of course all for charity and so I need your help here please!
I guess most people have 'favourite' charities they support having had personal experience. This is one of the charities personal to our family.
As a pianist and cellist it seems to be a whole new adventure to tackle the bassoon! Goodness knows how the pieces fit together, never mind how to blow through a double reed! It seems very technical,it's usually bow and spike out and off I go! I look forward to seeing if I can get a note out of it!
I must thank Jo for being very trusting and kind in lending me her bassoon.
Well here goes as it is all in a good cause, and hopefully I will raise some money.
Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Alzheimer's Society gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.
So thank you for visiting this page, and many many thanks if you feel able to sponsor me.
