Story
World Transplant Games, Australia.
22nd to 30th August 2009
Hi Everyone
Thank you for visiting my justgiving page.
In March 1999 I was thankfully given the gift of life when I received a kidney transplant from an anonomous donor.
In trying to keep fit and well, I have been taking part in the British Transplant Games each year.
I have been lucky enough to be selected to represent the UK in the World Transplant Games in Australia in August '09.
My main sport is table tennis and I'm going to take part in the badminton too.
Unfortunately we have to fund the trip and kit ourselves.
I jumped then flew to earth from a plane on Friday 10th July during National Transplant Week (tandem parachute jump) at Halford, Northamptonshire.
Thank you for everyone who sponsored my jump throughTransplant Sport UK. I had a brilliant time from lift off to landing and am really glad I did it. There is nothing else like it and it certainly cleared out my lungs!!
Please take a look at my images of the jump. Video taken by Kate !
I am now that bit nearer to reaching my target, thank you. There is still time if you would like to sponsor me for the World Transplant Games.
I wish to take part in honour of my donor and their family for giving me a longer life and in the hope that I can increase awareness of the NHS Organ Donor Register and the benefits of transplantation.
Don’t forget to tell everyone to register onto the NHS ODR by calling 0845 60 60 400 or by logging onto www.uktransplant.org.uk
Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Transplant Sport UK gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.
So please sponsor me !
Thank you toThorntons Sports and Leisure for donating a Stiga tracksuit and kit bag for my training.
