Tearfund ICS - Bangladesh
Fund code: 1567
Hello!
I have been given the incredible opportunity, through the charity Tearfund, to volunteer in Bangladesh this coming January. This is a 12 week programme, all part of the International Citizen Service (ICS) who bring together young people to fight poverty, inspiring those in the UK and overseas and practically making a difference where it is needed the most!
In Bangladesh, Tearfund support the Garo Baptist Convention who have the amazing goal of making local communities resilient to flooding, typhoons and other natural disasters that devastate the land. They work with people in the community developing practical ways to cope with the threat of natural disasters.
As well as supporting the Bangladesh Nazarene Mission who work with the most poverty stricken people, helping communities to survive and thrive sustainably in areas that are prone to flooding; places which are facing the very real consequences of climate change.
I need to raise £800 in order to go and work on these amazing projects - positively bringing about hope and change and in a very practical way helping to break the cycle of poverty. I have a relentless passion for people and social justice and this is an amazing chance to put into action!
So whether it’s a 50p or £50 please give generously because anything you give will directly help those in Bangladesh! Humans helping humans – which is really the essence of what life is about! I’ll be holing some events soon to raise money so keep your eye out on this page for that.
Thank you for reading
