Story
As many of you are aware I also did a charity run 2 years ago during lockdown in memory of the 22. Last year I did not, but I’ve decided to do this again this year and start it in April - due to my exams in May and June. I’ve decided to raise money for Young Minds, as i know the amount of children who attended the concert that night…the mere teenagers with all hopes of just seeing their idol in concert and it being ruined. I am raising money for all of the children; the teenagers; the now adults and who should have never witnessed what they did. I am doing this whilst remembering those we so sadly lost. It will always be for the 22. Forever. I will be running everyday for 22 days, for 22 minutes at a time, with an aim of getting to 22 miles. Many of the 22 we lost were also children when they were taken from the world. With hopes and dreams they were unable to reach.
This will be something that will stay with people forever. It has been a very difficult few years processing for myself and many of my friends. I wish and hope that doing this will also heal parts of my inner child who witnessed the cruelest parts of the world too young when she was never meant to. I am also doing this run for my mum. My mum who never once stopped smiling despite what she saw. I hope if you can, you can donate to this amazing cause, and help me in giving everyone still struggling the support they deserve.
And for the 22…who I think about every single second. 🐝
