Story
After completing Couch to 5k this summer and joining a running group, I'm challenging myself by running my first ever half marathon at Cambridge in March 2022!
To keep me motivated, I am running in memory of my Dad John 'JR' Richards who passed away in January 2020.
I will be asking people to sponsor my run, with proceeds going to Sue Ryder, whose hospice, St John's in Moggerhanger, did amazing work taking care of my dad in his final days, and who were so supportive and accommodating of me and my siblings through a difficult time. Just £145 would pay for a hospice nurse for a day, so I'd love whatever people are able to give, even if it's just £1.
And if you see me training over the next 3 months, please do cheer me on!
"Sue Ryder supports people through the most difficult times of their lives. Whether that’s a terminal illness, the loss of a loved one or a neurological condition – they’re there when it matters. Their doctors, nurses and carers give people the compassion and expert care they need to help them live the best life they possibly can."
