I am doing this walk because I am one of the 60,000 people in the UK who has Crohn's Disease.  Crohn's can affect any part of the digestive system and can cause serious complications which can be life threatening. Despite the number of sufferers very little is known about this disease not only by the public but by doctors who have yet to find a definitive cause or an effective cure. The only hope is 'remission' that is either gained through a barrage of potent drugs and/or by surgery, and for some it's just a wishful dream.

Nothing can prepare you for the devastating effect it has on not only you but the entire family. My life has changed dramatically since receiving the diagnosis in February 2011, and I have struggled with numerous and debilitating complications since. In December 2012 I had to have major bowel surgery in which I had to have a temporary illeostomy, I am awaiting the reversal.

Crohn's sufferers need all the help they can get, so by donating even a small amount it will contribute to the fight of this cruel disease.
