Yorkshire Three Peaks 2021 · 17 July 2021 ·

Far too many of us have felt the pain of losing someone we love. With your donations, we power groundbreaking cardiovascular research to save and improve lives, bring hope to families, and keep hearts beating across the UK.

Story

July the 17th, myself, Jan, Chloe and Adam will be tackling the Yorkshire 3 peak challenge.

If someone mentioned the 3 peaks 6 months ago, it would of been from our Dad/Husband who has completed them many times and trying to drag us up them - luckily me and Jan got away with it, Chloe and Adam however, not so lucky and both completed them with Dad.

2nd of October 2020, a call no family should ever have to receive, at the age of 57, whilst at work, Dad suffered a fatal heart attack, although CPR was started immediately, he was gone, it shouldn't happen, no one should leave for work and never come home.

If i was to talk about what a person he was, i would be here until tomorrow - funny, kind, hard working, family man, an amazing Dad/Step Dad/ Grandad and the soul mate of Jan, married for 24 years. The British Heart foundation are an amazing charity, the hard work they do and the donations they receive will hopefully mean, one day, a family will not go through our heartache.

Below are some words from Jan x

I am attempting this walk in memory of my husband, who died of a heart attack Oct 2020. Having completed this walk 4 times he was at home on the hills.
I've never walked this far, but feel I must give it a go, I'm sure he'd be proud. He'd run marathons in aid of BHF which he did as family members have heart issues, never imagining for one minute that issues with his own heart would cause his death.
As a couple we enjoyed our walks and the time this gave us together, we made lots of memories and had good times together.
Losing someone you love too soon is so hard, but Auzz would want us to keep going, a lifelong Liverpool supporter so fitting that I finish with this:-
When you walk through a storm
Hold your head up high
And don't be afraid of the dark
At the end of a storm
There's a golden sky
And the sweet silver song of a lark
Walk on through the wind
Walk on through the rain
Though your dreams be tossed and blown
Walk on, walk on
With hope in your heart
And you'll never walk alone
You'll never walk alone.

Every penny raised, will be one step closer to save a family going through what we have gone through, and every physical step on that day, we know Dad will be watching over us, probably saying "You silly beggers", but proud none the less. Please donate what ever you can, and on the day, raise a glass x

We miss you, forever and always.
