Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

The NSPCC has begun a recent campaign that is very close to my heart for lots of reasons. It is demanding that every new parent has the right to receive the appropriate mental health support during pregnancy, after child birth and through to a specialist if needed.

I have worked with children for the past 10 years and cannot see myself ever having any other career that doesn’t involve supporting children. I genuinely believe they are the future. If children and their parents do not get the right support from the beginning, we cannot make our children as great as they deserve to be.

In September 2014, I gave birth to my daughter, Isla-Rose. I am very fortunate that I come from an amazingly supportive family. However, after giving birth, I now know, that if I had a professional to turn to, to talk to and ask for professional advice, in the new born days of my daughter I would have understood a long time ago that as a parent, you cannot always get it right but as long as you do the best you can with the tools you have, you’re doing a great job.
