Story
Every year, the Maine State Society for the Protection of Animals rehabilitates and re-homes dozens of formerly abused and neglected horses. Just recently, 20 horses were removed by the state and brought to the shelter in a single day. Many of these horses were severely underweight and need significant veterinary care and farrier work. There is even a mother with her foal. The photos above show the state of the horses upon their arrival; they need so much care and rehabilitation.
In addition to the Neglected 20, there were 27 horses already in the River Road shelter and more new arrivals since. As a volunteer, I witness how much these horses improve after arriving at the shelter due to the dedication of the MSSPA mission.
Will you join up with me and other horse lovers to ride to the rescue of this big herd? By supporting my Ride-to-Rescue, you directly impact the lives of rescue horses such as these 20 neglected horses. Anything helps!
Thank you for helping the horses!
