Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.
Chris Bennett was out on a regular Sunday ride with the Torbay CTC section on 1st April 2012. It was a beautiful sunny day as the group wound their way through the Devon lanes. Tragically, as they approached the top of a particularly steep climb, Chris's heart stopped. The Devon Air Ambulance arrived on the scene within minutes and every effort was made to save him by all paramedics, as well as the friends with whom he was cycling and a passer by. Sadly, these efforts were not successful but his family and friends will be eternally grateful to the Devon Air Ambulance for giving him the best possible chance.
The Devon Air Ambulance is on hand to help those in trouble in remote areas that are diffcult to access by road. We want to ensure that this service is there to assist others in the future. However, it costs somewhere in the region of £4.5 million to keep both helicopters airborne. In memory of Chris, please give as much as you can to support this invaluable organisation.
