Story
The what what?
On the 5th March at 8pm I will run 4 miles, then do the same very 4 hours for the next two days. So when 8pm rolls around on the 7th March I will have run 48 miles in total.
This means when I start running at 20:00 and it takes 40 minutes to run 4 miles then I will only have 3 hours and 20 minutes rest before heading out on the next 4 mile run.
Running miles is one thing (almost two marathons), but with the added sleep deprivation, this means that the 4x4x48 challenge is one of the toughest I have faced.
I have decided to do this challenge to put my body through something that I have never experienced and challenge myself to the limits. I will be doing this for New Life Charity, one that is very close to my heart. The charity is tirelessly supporting disabled children all across the UK providing grants and much needed equipment to children that desperately need it.
They have provide equipment to my daughter Lucie when no one else would. So when the times are tough during this run, and my legs hurt, I will be pushed on by thinking of Lucie, and all the pain she goes through every day just to stand and walk about like everyone else.
I know times are tough, but when you have a disability it can be even tougher. Many of those in need have not left the house for the last year and see no light at the end of the tunnel. Give whatever you can to the wonderful cause and follow me on each run day and night.
