Story
Christian Aid Week has been supported in Gotherington, Oxenton and Woolstone for many years. Many people prefer online donations rather than handling envelopes. So, we are hoping that some of you will consider donating online.
Alternatively, you can return physical Christian Aid donations in envelopes to me (Annalise Price-Thomas) at 57 Malleson Road, Gotherington. There is a plastic box with a lid by my front door with spare Christian Aid donation envelopes if you need them. Please put any donations in envelopes through my door.
As you probably know, the wonderful Kirsten Stillman has usually organised the Christian Aid collection, in Christian Aid Week, for Gotherington, Woolstone and Oxenton. In case you didn’t know, Kirsten is now in Denmark for two years. Her husband Andy has a work contract there for two years. So, the Stillman family are having a wonderful Danish adventure 😊
Why support Christian Aid? For the first time in a generation, global poverty is rising. Covid-19, conflict, and the climate crisis are pushing more of our global neighbours into a struggle for survival. Christian Aid is a brilliant charity. They have some amazing projects that address hunger and poverty including in countries like Afghanistan where there is a real crisis, as an estimated 8 million people are on the brink of famine. Every little bit of money really does help (I’ve seen what they do first hand, when I worked for another charity). It would be wonderful if we could help to raise some funds for the vital work that Christian Aid are doing.
Every little helps. Please do donate if you can. Thank you!
