Story
We were living through the sweetest, happiest years one can ever hope for, my wonderful Carolyn and I, especially since our little treasure Camille came to the world a few days before last Christmas. Happiness and love were so intense you could touch it. We were living by the words of Lamb's song Gorecki, so dear to us from the time we met that we made these words part of our vows and kept them carved inside our wedding rings:
Wanna stay right here
Until the end of time
'til the earth stops turning
Gonna love you until the seas run dry
I've found the one I've waited for.
On March 17th our world shattered into pieces as Carolyn succumbed to a cardiac arrest during her sleep, with no warning or existing condition, what is often called a Sudden Adult Death Syndrome. Camille was not even 3 months, the little girl Carolyn was so fond of, who we had waited for with so much anticipation, who she was so thrilled to cherish and watch grow. There is no word to express the sadness in my heart since that day.
I decided to walk all the way from the southwestern tip of the country, Land's End, to Carolyn's place of rest in Hadlow, Kent. And in the time leading to this walk, as well as during each day of the journey, I am hoping to raise a nice amount for CRY, Cardiac Risk in the Young, charity who deals with support of families, cardiac risk screenings and medical research related to unexplained sudden death.
