I just went for an interview to a 'different charity'.  I was offered a contract, guaranteed for 3 years, and I've now been at NMC for 31 years.  The people, the place and the sense of community are so special.  'I love it'.

This will be my nth Cycling Challenge having previously completed Coast to Coast, 2 Nightrider events, a few other bits and pieces, and an epic MizMal (Ireland End to End) five years ago.  Everything feels like it has been building up to this 'Ultimate Cycling Challenge'.  Planned for two years ago, the pandemic got in the way, and I've had a 'huge' landmark birthday too.

NMC, now into it's 32nd year, has experienced huge growth in that time.  With a Physiotherapy clientele of just 6 people when I started, the department now has a regular 600+, with about 1800 on the books. Other departments include a Graphic Design business, training in Graphic Design, Animation and other 'dark arts' I have no idea about.  We now have a thriving Shed Club, a Gardening Club in our purpose built allotment, and a 'Connect Up' group with a regular programme  of events including an art group, a poetry group, a 3D printing club, a crossword group and a book club.  I'm sure I've left several things out.  Can you see now why 'I love it?'.

We took a big hit through COVID (as we're sure many did) but we're getting back to normal and, with all your help, we can contribute to the £1.2 million running cost for the year.
