Story
I decided to raise funds for Carers Trust Scotland as they supported my family hugely through my Dad's Alzheimer's diagnosis. The charity helps families and individuals looking after vulnerable people. I felt that there wasn't enough being done to say thank you to all the carers and those who support them, giving their time and energy to look after people and put other people first.
My Dad, Brian, was unfortunately diagnosed with Dementia a few years back and it was a massive shock to myself and my family and although my brother's, sister, my mum and I were more than happy to help support and care for Dad, it was also important that we looked after ourselves to give him the best care we could provide, because it definitely takes its toll on a person. Luckily my amazing family, friends and charities like Carers Trust were there throughout to make a difficult time that little bit easier.
Dad would be the first one to want to do Tough Mudder with me and my mates, always game for a laugh and an adventure, always making people laugh and being everyone's friend.
So if you know anyone who cares for someone, or if you yourself are a carer for a vulnerable person then I'm doing this for you!
Absolutely anything you donate will go straight to the charity, it's safe, secure and appreciated.
Thank you all so much from the bottom of my heart for donating!
