My name is Gopi, I am 10 years old and I am raising money for Ahimsa cows.

Every year thousands and thousands of baby calves are killed in England for no reason. I can't understand why it goes on and I think it is not fair at all. I want to tell farmers not to kill calves. At school we are told about farms where all animals live nicely together and how cows give us milk, but I sometimes wonder if that is really true.

I love small animals, especially baby cows - ever since I was small. My sister and I have sponsored a baby calf in Wales, his name is Nimai. 

I also like to swim. Last month I got my silver award for swimming 800 metres. When I found out about the Cow Challenge in May, I said I want to swim 2,500 metres for baby cows. My dad said that I should just swim 1,000 metres, but I want to swim 2,500 metres, my swimming teacher Barbara said she would help me.

I am really excited.
