Story

Hello! As many of you may know, I sadly lost my mum to cancer, my partner lost her mum to cancer and that I work with amazing young people every day. I love my job and  seeing children happy and healthy. I can’t imagine seeing them suffering from such a cruel, life changing illness, when they have their whole lives in front of them. Unfortunately, this is the devastating reality which faces so many children and their families everyday so I feel it vitally important to raise funds and support a cause I am so passionate about.

CLIC Sargent fight tirelessly to ensure cancer doesn’t destroy fragile young lives and treats each child as a unique individual. The diagnosis of cancer is scary and confusing for children who should be worrying about what game to play next or what they will be learning at school next. Therefore by supporting them and their families with specialist clinical care and play therapies, it makes the process far less distressing. The money raised helps support financial anxieties of cancer treatment, supplies valuable nurses and funds accommodations near hospitals to reduce the stress of travel.

However, most importantly to me, CLIC help by allowing children to thrive during cancer treatment. They provide emotional, educational and long term support for them to get over cancer and have successful futures. Something which is very close to my heart being a teacher. Cancer is evil enough but we must not let it shatter hope or enable it to have long term impact on the aspirations and achievements of special young people. So please, if you can, donate to a very important cause as we just don’t know when we may personally need such support in a tremendously difficult situation.
