Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.
A devastating earthquake, measuring 7.0 on the Richter Scale struck Haiti. Before this disaster occurred, Haiti was one of the poorest countries in the World and is struggling to cope from years of violence, natural disasters and poverty.
Many people in Haiti are in need of clean water, food, shelter and medical help. Already more than 100,000 deaths have been reported and rising. We feel that we have to do something to help.
The young people at the Good Shepherd Secure Unit are organsing and participating in a Haiti Fundraising Day on Friday 22nd January 2010, to raise money to help Haiti. Some of the activities we will be doing include a Sponsored Silence and a Sponsored Walk around our Centre. Staff will be also be participating in various activities in order to raise money for the Haiti Disaster.
All proceeds from this event will go to UNICEF UK who have launched an Emergency Appeal for the Haiti Disaster.
