Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving - they'll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they'll send your money directly to the charity. So it's the most efficient way to donate - saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

My father sadly died last month from a combination of cancer and Parkinson's disease - the dementia it triggered caused him to become lost in a frighteningly unfamiliar world in which his family were only fleetingly known to him. Obviously this was very upsetting for us to witness but awful for him too.  In his brief moments of lucidity he shared his warmth and gratitude to us for looking after him - something that still touches me now. Dad was an enthusiastic supporter of me having taken up running a few years back as he did a fair bit of this in the army himself! I am not fit enough to run at the moment but am going to strive to achieve a total of 9000 steps per day from all activities. I would like to contribute in a small way to the important research that is currently underway to find better treatments for Parkinson's.

Thank you so much for helping me reach this target.

Anyone can get Parkinson’s. It gets worse over time and there’s no cure. Yet. Funding research into the most promising treatments, we’re getting closer to a cure. Until then, we're improving life for people with Parkinson’s, and the people in their lives. Together we'll find a cure.
